Sans Terre: Weather Report
Hakim Bey is a counter-culture philosopher/ theorist who thinks the internet is a waste of time. In comparing the social movements of the late 60s to the social movements of today, he was lead to the conclusion that the youth waste most of their talents, time and energy bimbling around on the internet instead of organizing, protesting and generally looking out for themselves. Hakim Bey also writes for NAMBLA , so feel free to dismiss him and his criticism. Everybody else has. In spite of this dismissal I think he is right. (Exit: Irony). So, here we are. Biting the hand that feeds us. However, on the other hand, we may also draw attention the most constructive aspect of modern technological life. The being the formation of…. what is that sound? Dinner bells?
Krakow’s album Monolith is Norse metal. Like in a legit Platonic, emanational sense. Hailing from the rainy shores of Scandanavia’s coastal regions, Krakow’s music evokes the Forgotten Ones in ways long forgotten. This remembering began before baby Jesus was even a sperm in the Holy Ghost’s pistol; these Forgotten ones, the pan-indio European Gods and Goddess that compose the pantheons of Heathenism, Ásatrú, Odinism, Forn Siðr, Vor Siðr, and Theodism were demanding human sacrifice (a ritual the Hebrew God would demand years later only to back out at the last minute) and laying the ground work for Krakow’s sound and fury.
Getting back to Bey, it must be made clear that before his criticisms can be taken on their word one must acknowledge the debt owed to… What is that noise?
