Post-Sleep: Lily Allen’s Friends Love Cocaine*
Recent comments by Lily Allen have caused a bit of a to do across the pond. The Brit pop star recently addressed the sensationalism of anti-drug propaganda and briefly discussed the habits of several of her associates.
I know lots of people that take cocaine three nights a week and get up and go to work every day, no problem at all,” the 24-year-old said.
But we never hear that side of the story. I have no statement to make, I just wish people wouldn’t sensationalise this thing that just exists.
One of the first singles from her album, Everything’s At It, discusses Allen’s feelings about drug use – cocaine, prescription, or otherwise.
Okay. To be honest, I don’t care what Lily Allen has to say about cocaine or drug use in general, but it did afford me the chance to post Grandmaster Flash’s White Lines on the site. I figure that’s good enough excuse as any to talk about her comments.
And for the record, everyone dancing in the White Lines video looks pretty happy, but I guess they’re supposed to be the ones not doing coke.
*Not really, well maybe.
