Palin is a Hipster
Q: How many hipsters does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Some number you’ve probably never heard of.
The term hipster lacks a solid definition and many variety of people can fit underneath its massive reach. A general dig on hipsters, particularly of the music elitist variety (read: music bloggers – schmucks), is that they claim to have a vast reservoir of music knowledge. However, when directly questioned about their tastes – a question often with no right or wrong answer – they fumble to produce a response. If asked something to the effect of,”what genres are you into?” or, “what are you listening to right now?” a response such as, “everything and probably artists you’ve never heard of,” can be expected.
Until now, I had no idea that vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was of the same ilk as our friendly, neighborhood hipster.
She’s probably so into MGMT right now. (Perhaps she should take their advice.)
