Deerhunter @ McCarren Park Pool

The following conversation occured via text message between fellow Enough Cowbell contributor James and myself. James was at McCarren Park Pool watching Deerhunter (and King Khan and the Black Lips). I was at work staring at the wall.

James: Is the guy in Deerhunter deathly ill?

Me: So skinny…He has Marfan Syndrome.

James: Sucks. He should hit the gym.

Me: Haha. You’re an asshole.

James: Hah. It was a joke…He rulz the hispter universe because he can wear the skinnier jeans than anyone.

Me: lol. That’s true…How long until jean companies start signing musicians to deals like shoe companies do with basketball players? Converse is already doing it.

Me: It’s a much easier dream to aspire too. Anyone can blow coke, smoke cigs, and restrict their eating to wear tight jeans, not everyone can dunk.

James: Trueee. Don’t know, but Deerhunter is killing it.

Meanwhile, At Basstown…

DJ Die Young posted the audio from Hearthrob’s set last Tuesday (7.29.08) opening for Booka Shade.
