Keys to the Streets of Fear - Motherfucker, and everything else on their myspace page
Okay, so the rehearsal take of Motherfucker really doesn’t touch the version on KttSoF’s myspace page, but there is no physical copy of their Hip Sing EP to be had just yet. They’ll have it every Monday in June during their ZuZu residency. I’ll have proper tracks streaming once I get my hands on Hip Sing. Until then dig their rehearsal takes and their myspace page. The Ting Tings - “That’s Not My Name” (Kasper Bjørke Remix)
Via Palms Out Sounds, this music makes me feel warm inside like a sunburned chest. Tings Tings are buzzing around the blog circuit - warranted or not, I’ll let you decide - and everyone’s capitalizing on the Ting Ting merriment.

Ponytail - Celebrate the Body Electric (It Came From An Angel)
The opening riffs to Celebrate the Body Electric (It Came From An Angel) is time elapsed sun rise in my ears. Their forthcoming has Ice Cream Spiritual (6.17.08 on We Are Free) has been garnering lots of praise so I have high hopes for the rest of the record. Pre-order.

Hold Steady - Entire LP Discography (2004 - 2008)
Hold Steady summer hype has begun. Sequestered in Memphis has been released as a single, they have added tons of tour dates which unfortunately do not include Boston. So in honor of the forthcoming Stay Positive (7.15.08 on Vagrant) I’m throwing a bunch of Hold Steady on the muxtape. Pre-order Stay Positive.
cause it burns being broke/hurts to be heart broken/and always being both must be a drag
Hold Steady - Almost Killed Me (2004)
Hold Steady - Separation Sunday (2005)
Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America (2006)
Hold Steady - Stay Positive (2008)
.
Islands - Arm’s Way (2008)
Islands played Middle East alongside Magic and I’ve been putting off writing up the show. Needless to say they’re always fun live and even though I’m still listening to Arm’s Way the show convinced me that Swan’s is the best song they’ve ever written. Every time I hear it live it continues to surprise and stun me.
On the other hand Magic’s lead singer tries to sound like Bruce Springsteen, but instead of actually sounding like Mr. Springsteen he sounds like someone trying to sound like Mr. Springsteen, which is no good at all; indeed. Buy.
