The Only Thing Offensive About Does It Offend You Yeah? Is Epic Last Song
I guess I’m a bit late to the horror/monster movie inspired electro duo Does It Offend You Yeah? love fest. But, better late than never. I’ll forgive the one “yeah” too long name for two reasons: (1) The band’s song titles are fantastic. Battle Royal and Dawn of the Deadare obvious tributes to classic Japanese and American horror flicks respectively and Attack of the 60ft Lesbian Octopus is a tribute to everything great about the internet. Or something. (2) The majority of the album is good, with flashes of being something special.
The single is We Are Rockstars which figures because it is one of the duller songs on the album. I would have gone with Let’s Make Out, or With A Heavy Heart (I Regret to Inform You). At least they didn’t choose to release Epic Last Song, which is some bastard child of the Killers, LCD Soundsystem and some other garden variety electro outfit.
The Does It Offend You Yeah? LP You Have No Idea What You’re Getting Yourself Into is available now digitally and the physical formats will be released April 15th by Sony BMG.

In other Sony BMG news…they’re pirates and are currently being sued for copyright infringement. Unfortunately, incompetence and hypocrisy are not illegal.
